I love Polo Green.

It is like the scent of man.

Very musky.

I sniffed the ad in my Real Simple magazine for hours.

Mmmm.

Welcome To My Life...

Do you ever have one of those self-destruction kinda nights?

Boy, I headed down the wrong road today. Trying to focus on me, right? Not guys. I have done so well all year!

...

And then today hit...

1. I emailed a guy I promised I wouldn't email. Then went to lunch with him. He just broke up with his girlfriend. (SCORE!)

2. Flirted shamelessly all day with the cute security guards on base.

3. Went to visit my married work-husband. Lost the back to my earring in his office. (Nothing dirty, just lost it there!) Then texted him when I found it in my shirt when I got home. Then continued to text him.

4. Then texted my ex to tell him that "I think of you every time I think about making breakfast burritos." WHAT!?! What the hell am I doing?

5. Oh, I responded to the text from my old college makeout buddy who is now a hot Navy Seal in Virginia. Swore that dude off too.

Awesome job today Holly! Awesome!!

All About ME!

It might be that I am reading this:

Or that I have re-fallen in love with this:

The Optimist Creed
by Christian Larson

Promise Yourself
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature you meet.
To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear and
too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds.
To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

But I am trying very hard to focus my life back on to me. I realize that I spend so much time worrying about others, and thinking about guys, and I have totally lost track of how wonderful I am.

I really am.

You are too.

So I have decided to stop worrying about guys in my life. I don't need to waste any time on them right now.
I am going to take people for their word. If you offer to pay, then you get to pay. If you ask for my opinion, you will get it.

I am just going to break off my sugar coating and be me. Wonderful ol' me.

To Do: 75 Things

I love men's magazines. They are always so funny and simple.

I love this article from Esquire-August 2008 "75 Things Every Man Should Do Once"

I may try a few of them too because...

To Do: Mate

So Little Z and I were out walking/exercising today.

This normally starts with a trip to 7/11 to get slurpees. (mine ONLY banana and pina colada, Z with a little taste of every flavor)

It also consists of a lot of gossip and chatting about life.

Today we were discussing the perfect guy for me.

>>>side note: does anyone remember those games you play as a kid where each person adds something new to the list. like I am going to the zoo and I am going to bring a banana. then I am going to the zoo and I am going to bring a banana and a cactus...etc.

back to the point. this is pretty much how we have created the perfect guy in our heads.

"He must be Mormon. He must be Mormon and a Marine. He must be a Mormon, Marine with a boat...etc."

Anyhow, Little Z says to me today.
"I am normally totally against this. You know. But I think that you should join eHarmony so that you can narrow your search. You could literally type in the perfect man for you."

That's about when I realized that I may be putting too much into this. :)

aww, The Dude loved banana slurpees too. :(

Actually I love all men's magazines. GQ. Details. Esquire. Men's Vogue.

All of them.

Check out this article on the war in Afghanistan. I thought it was really interesting.

I Have Taken A South African Lover...

Ohhkay, not really. But I just love saying that.

Today as I was enjoying the beautiful DC weather out at Hains Point (which I love and spend all my free time. watching the sun set. watching the plans take off at Reagan National Airport. looking at the beautiful homes at Ft. McNair. Watching the helicopters fly over the Potomac. Most of all, just enjoying life.)

Anyhow, I was laying out reading (and finishing) Eat, Pray, Love and this handsome chunk of a man's man comes over after catching a huge fish and we say hello. Then on his way back from dropping the fish off he stops, introduces himself, and kisses my hand.

I do believe its love.

To Do: Find a Marine

Marine Silent Drill Platoon, originally uploaded by shaycam.

I went to the Marine Barracks again on Friday.

Yeah, so I am slightly obsessed.

I went to an event there with a co-worker. And I have decided that I would like a marine of my very own.

So what if I drove around the barracks a few times this weekend looking around. Scoping out the merchandise. Yes.

The Marine Ball in in November. And I am bound determined to be some one's date.

Thank. You. Very. Much!
