My Mother...
is too funny.
She sends me a check today to help me with rent. (Yeah, get over it. I still am "sucking of the teet" of my parents. I work for the government and get paid $hit)
Anyhow, she sends me a check today...
The Note: (written on patriotic paper with stickers)
"(my name),
I love you - to to at least pay back $100.
I know you are trying hard.
Love,
Ma Ma"

Personal Update...
My friend, Little Z, always teases me because I never talk about my roommates or my personal life.
Then yesterday morning I was talking to my dad ( in Australia) and he harassed me too because I never talk about my personal life.
Then I was reading my blog and some of my friend's blogs and I realized, I really don't share my personal life. I am not a shy person about it at all. I am a total open book. I guess I just never think that there is anything that is too noteworthy.
So here is a little about me...
**I love where I work but I am looking for a new job (at the same place though!) I have an opportunity to interview for the most amazing position ever and I really hope that it all works out. But the waiting is starting to stress me out.
**One of my two roommates is moving out this week. I have decided to take over her part of the lease and it may strain my pocketbook a little but I am looking forward to redecorating the place. It comes with pros and cons, I guess.
**My best friend who moved to DC from AZ the same time that I did, is moving back to Arizona. It makes me really sad to not have her around but I think that she will be happy in Arizona and that makes me happy.
**I had been really stressed out about who I should bring to an event at work for the Fourth of July and it came to me Sunday morning that I should invite my friend, a Citadel officer who was serving in Iraq and was shot my a sniper. He made it out alive but has a long recovery ahead. He and his family said that they would come and I couldn't be happier. I am now working on how to do something else special for them.
**Today, I am meeting the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers Basketball team and giving them a tour. I am really excited to meet them and hope that I don't mess up!
**I have been going to the gym almost every day. I love it. One of my friends (the one who is getting married and asked me to be a bridesmaid) asked me to come to NYC with her when she goes to run the NYC marathon. I have been thinking about training and doing mike a 1/2 marathon. I can already see the benefits of the gym and I love it.
**I love my new white skirt and I need to buy a blow dryer now.

Little Gold Band
This universal symbol is not understood in the beautiful District of Columbia. You would think that a wedding band would take you off the market just like a sold sign, but not here my friends.
I think that guys are super shady about this. They are always cheating and removing their rings. Sooo shady. DC is shady!

My last post...
was pretty vague.
I hate when my friends post about something going on in their life but they just hint at it, and they never tell you what is going on. I read blogs so I don't have to put in any effort into our friendship. I kid. I kid. (Sorta.)
Anyhow, I started to think about how I can expand on my last post. Here is what I came up with:
In the Pursuit of Happiness, the son tells his dad this story about having blind faith. It goes a little something like this...
Hey dad, you wanna hear something funny? There was a man who was drowning, and a boat came, and the man on the boat said "Do you need help?" and the man said
"God will save me". Then another boat came and he tried to help him, but he
said "God will save me", then he drowned and went to Heaven. Then the man
told God, "God, why didn't you save me?" and God said "I sent you two boats,
you dummy!"
The point is that sometimes you have to have faith and sometimes you have to take care of things yourself. So I ask myself... is God sending me boats right now?
Anyhow, I have been thinking about this recently and then I went out to dinner with my friends tonight and my fortune cookie says...
Many possibilities are open to you - work a little harder.
So... maybe I should wait... for one more boat to come my way.

To Do: Have Faith
I feel like I am walking in the dark.
I feel that if I have faith and walk in the dark now, Ill see that light at the end of the tunnel.
Hopefully soon rather than later.
(This is good news I am waiting for and I am not trying to be deep or poetic. promise!)

White Party
I am headed to a White Hot Party tonight at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.
I planned out a couple outfits last night and with my tan skin and dark hair the white looks pretty fierce.
Come one, come all.

To Do: Learn to Row
This Saturday I participated in "National Learn to Row Day" down at the DC Waterfront.
No... Not the nice DC Georgetown Waterfront... the ghetto Anacostia one. Naw, it wasn't bad. The Anacostia Community Boathouse is pretty nice.
I loved learning to row. I have been meaning to do this for awhile. Good workout. Hot day.

Back!!
Sooo... I am back in beautiful DC. Only problem... DC is yucky today.
The weather is sticky and muggy and it sure does a toll on your curls today. Urgh.
Anyhow, the Congressional Picnic got pushed back until tomorrow so I don't have to worry about looking nice today. (Thankfully!)
I loved the Cape. I will post some pictures of it. No... I will type up a whole Cape post. That's what Ill do.
Anyhow, I have a couple stories to share. Stay tune...
