To Do: Decorate

I love SaucyApron's new house.

Check out their bar. How cool is that sign!?!

To Do: Work

I love my job.

I love working for the Marine Corps. Crazy bunch they are.

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

I love that I know everyone in this video. :)

To Do: Want

I (like the rest of the blog world) LOVE EmersonMade.

Look at this amazing flower (and outfit, and picture!)

To Do: Remember MLK

I went to a wonderful speech today remembering Martin Luther King, Jr. This might be a few days late but still so important.

I love the imagines in the video. I often wonder what I would have done if I lived during this time period. Would I have been brave enough to take a stand and risk my life? I hope so.

Please watch & listen.

Thank goodness for people who stood up for what they believed in. These images are amazing and powerful.

To Do: Sniff

I love Polo Green.

It is like the scent of man.

Very musky.

I sniffed the ad in my Real Simple magazine for hours.

Mmmm.

To Do: Missed Connections

Speaking of dating, tonight I was on the phone chatting with my mom about my whole situation (see the last post) while grocery shopping. I was chatting and chatting with her and realized that...
a) people kept looking at me so I must have been speaking too loud
b) my shopping list was on my phone so I needed to quit talking and shop
c) there was a cute guy shopping around me too

...so I said goodbye to my mom near the cute guy and continued shopping. Then super cute guy followed me down the aisle and then said,
"Geez, I am so glad that you finally got off the phone."
We laughed and then moved on. Aisle after aisle we kept running into each other. (PS - he was in uniform.) And I started thinking, "dude, he was listening in on my conversation!"

So I went up to him and said,
"So, do you gather intellegence for the Air Force or something? Because you are a great eavesdropper."
We laughed again, totally flirting. And he followed me to the check out. We said goodbye and then ended up at the same stop light where we smiled and waved... and then what... NOTHING!

How stupid am I!?!

So, I will be spending the evening constantly refreshing the Craiglist Missed Connections site to see if he loves me and wrote me a note. ALL. NIGHT. LONG.

It made me think of this...

Joanna blogged about this missed connection picture drawn by Artist Sophie Blackall.

PS- I was totally kidding about spending the rest of the night checking the Craigslist site.

Ill only check it every few hours. Hahah. :)

To Do: Find Love

Okay, taking the idea from Ice Cream & Peonies about "things i should be embarrassed about" I feel that I should share with you today... about things I should be embarrassed about but instead, blog about.

Well, I was volunteering the other day and I was so darn bored sitting there with no one around. And it was the first time that I had watched TV in a long time and an eHarmony commercial was on and I thought..."Hey, why not!?!"

So I set up a little account for myself, answered all of their questions (heck, anything that consumed my time was great at this point!) and then I saw the price tag on it. But with a little investigating I found a cheap promo code that made it worth the time.

I am not expecting to find the love of my life but I figure that I little dating can't hurt, right? So, I went with it.

It has taught me a whole bunch about myself.
1- I imagine that everyone is good looking. Like Shallow Hal's vision of life. Well, they are not.
2- I have realized that I am really snobby. And that I place a lot on appearances. Oops.
3- There is nothing worse than when someone that you find unattractive, doesn't want to date you! Hello, I am fabulous.
4- Online dating might be for nerds. But I have already paid for 3 months. So, Ill give it a shot.

So on top of all of this... what happens?

I get matched with someone I work with! AWKWARD!!

But my goal this real is to be real and honest. Instead of lying and telling him that someone set it up for me and I think it is stupid I am gonna just face it.

But still... AWKWARD!

To Do: Seek Advice

Winona is one of my favorite bloggers and I feel like we are best friends. I mean, she did live in DC just blocks from my house. Although we never met when she lived her, we sure emailed the hell out of each other... therefore, we are total BFFs.

She is hysterical! And I love her fashion tips... like such:

Stiletto Heel

Pros: Sexy, can be used as a weapon if necessary

Cons: A pencil-width heel supporting your entire body mass is not going to be especially comfortable

Super–High Heel (5 inches or higher)

Pros: Umm . . . they make you five inches taller?

Cons: Chances of tripping and breaking your ankle: 95 percent

Check out her book, Closet Confidential and her blog, Daddy Likey and her article in Woman's Day.

If I had a million dollars...

I would spend it all on perfume.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Dear Peanut Butter:

You are amazing. And I love you. Looking forward to spending a special day with you tomorrow.

Peanut Butter/Chocolate protein shake for breakfast
Peanut Butter sandwich for lunch tomorrow. Keeping it old school.

Welcome To My Life...

Do you ever have one of those self-destruction kinda nights?

Boy, I headed down the wrong road today. Trying to focus on me, right? Not guys. I have done so well all year!

...

And then today hit...

1. I emailed a guy I promised I wouldn't email. Then went to lunch with him. He just broke up with his girlfriend. (SCORE!)

2. Flirted shamelessly all day with the cute security guards on base.

3. Went to visit my married work-husband. Lost the back to my earring in his office. (Nothing dirty, just lost it there!) Then texted him when I found it in my shirt when I got home. Then continued to text him.

4. Then texted my ex to tell him that "I think of you every time I think about making breakfast burritos." WHAT!?! What the hell am I doing?

5. Oh, I responded to the text from my old college makeout buddy who is now a hot Navy Seal in Virginia. Swore that dude off too.

Awesome job today Holly! Awesome!!

To Do: Listen

Anyone else loving these two songs like I am? Geez, they are just too fun to rock out to.

Lady Gaga - Bad Romance

PS - I played Bad Romance for a buddy at work the other day and asked if he had heard it yet, he said... "Yeah, I think my 11-year-old has this on her iPod."

Umm, can you talk about different worlds! Geez.

To Do: Find the PERFECT Planner

I just don't do green, right?!? I only do black and white, right!?!

Well, maybe something crazy is happening in 2010 because I can't stop thinking about this hunter green daily planner. For real. I am going to go buy one this week, I think.

You know, come to think about it, I did like a hunter green purse while holiday shopping with my madre back in AZ.

Stick around... big changes are happening here. :)

To Do: Be Fabulous

I plan to have a fabulous year.

I want to purchase only wonderful, luxurious items all year round.

This is great from Jordan Ferney. She said it perfectly!
Live the Good Life
Light candles that smell good whenever I'm home, fresh flowers in the house, eat delicious high-quality food, have friends over for simple dinner parties often, plan outfits and wear makeup and perfume everyday.

I hope that you do too.

Don't Cha?

I think I want to order this.

How fun would it be to work out to their songs and learn those sexy dance moves.
